The forming of a partnership in Malaysia in 1983 to produce furniture webbing was the beginning in the founding of Furniweb Industrial Products Berhad Group of Companies (FIPB Group).

FIPB Group's business strategy of diversification proved to be successful as not only did FIPB Group produce furniture webbing, it also ventured into producing other niche products ranging from covered elastic yarn and narrow fabrics for the textile and apparel industry, recliner mechanism for the furniture industry, seatbelt for the automotive industry, meat netting products for food packaging industry and rubber strips and sheets for the medical industries.

With its far sighted strategy for diversification and expansion, Furniweb Industries Products Berhad was incorporated as the holding company and was successfully listed on the Bursa Malaysia or the Malaysian Stock Exchange in 2003.
